Emogene Stapp 91 of Carthage passed away May 24, 2016 in Greenfield. She was born on September 23, 1924 to the late George Jabez and Mazie (Newsome) Apple in Henry County. She married her late husband Herbert “Al” Stapp on May 25, 1946. She was a member of the East Street Christian Church.
Jean will be greatly missed by her daughter Jeanie Engle; 3 grandchildren, Randy (Ro-Anne) Engle, Tony (Teresa) Engle and Gary (Amy) Engle; 2 sisters-in-law, Doris Apple and Justine Southwood; 9 great- grandchildren, Megan, Caleb, Morgan, Jabez, Rahissa, Mason, Hayley, Kelsey, Alyssa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents Jean was preceded in death by 2 brothers Marvin and Larry Apple; her sister Glenda Lou Apple and a great-great-grandson Bentley Allen.
Services for Emogene will be Friday May 27, 2016 at 1PM at HERITAGE FUNERAL CARE in Knightstown. Friends may visit from 4-8PM on Thursday May 26, 2016. Burial will be in Center Cemetery in Knightstown with Allen Polston to preside.
